Cultural Events- Festival Celebrationorganised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Mexico City (April , 2021)
1. April 11 - Embassy observed the commencement of India@75 Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, with the auspicious festival Baisakhi's celebrations with the Indian community in Mexico at the Indian Ambassador's residence. The event commenced with a welcome address by the C'dA followed by brief speeches by prominent members of the Sikh community in Mexico. One local Mexican artists group performed the energetic Bhangra dance and the second, which are students at India's Cultural Centre in Mexico, performed an enjoyable Bollywood dance. 2. April 29- Embassy supported the Association of Diplomatic Spouses (ADS) in holding a Charity Bazaar at the Indian Ambassador's residence. This bazaar saw the display of varied traditional items and cuisines from many countries. Different slots were allotted to people based on pre-registrations, which ensured compliance with the requisite safety protocols. The event saw participation of over 150 people and was very well received. The details of event with pictures had been uploaded on all social media platforms of the mission. 3. April 9 & 23- ICCR's Cultural Centre in Mexico- Gurudev Tagore Indian Cultural Centre also conducted two virtual events which included launch of a plan of conducting 75 events to celebrate 75 years of India's independence, and the launch of Little Guru app for promotion of Sanskrit in Mexico. The opening remarks were presented by the C'dA of Indian Embassy.
