Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state :-
(a) the number of foreign trips undertaken by the Union Ministers from February 2021 till June 2023;
(b) the details of the visits including the destination and purpose of visit; and
(c) the cost borne by Government of India or any other official agency of India for the travel, stay and visit, trip-wise details?

(a) to (c) The visits by Union Ministers are means to foster closer relations with foreign countries and promote India’s multi-faceted engagements at bilateral, regional and global level. Through such visits, Union Ministers convey India’s viewpoint and shape the agenda at bilateral, regional and global levels on issues such as reformed multilateralism, peace and security, climate change, transnational crime, terrorism, cyber security, resilient supply chain, energy and food security, cultural cooperation and people-to-people contacts, Diaspora issues, among others. These visits are aligned to serve the national interest and enable India to strengthen its relations with partner countries across a wide-range of sectors. Such outcomes contribute to India’s national development agenda, promote economic growth and well being of our people, put forth the interest of the developing countries and act as voice of global South at multilateral forums including, G20.
Details of expenditure on foreign travel by Union Ministers are maintained by respective Ministries/ Departments. Foreign visits by Union Ministers from February 2021 till June 2023 are placed at Annexure I.
