FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR RESEARCH ON INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
404. DR. VINAY P. SAHASRABUDDHE:
Will the Minister of External Affairs be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Ministry has given any financial assistance to the Universities/ Institutions for conducting research on International Relations during the last five years;
(b) if so, the total amount of financial assistance sanctioned during the last five years, the details thereof;
(c) whether the research, so undertaken was later on used by the Ministry in one way or the other; and
(d) if so, please give details?

(a) Yes. (b) Details of financial assistance to the Universities/ Institutions for conducting research on International Relations during the last five years is enclosed at Annexure A.
(c) Yes. The Ministry holds regular and structured interactions with universities, think-tanks and research bodies. It supports several joint activities with these institutions through flagship conferences, seminars and research projects.
The research output is utilized by the Ministry and Indian Missions and Posts abroad in formulation and execution of policies.
