TO BE ANSWERED ON 05.08.2021
INDIA’S VACCINE DIPLOMACY
2015. DR. VIKAS MAHATME:
Will the Minister of External Affairs be pleased to state:
(a) whether India's vaccine diplomacy can tackle China's economic globalisation and project India as a Vishvaguru during this Pandemic;
(b) whether the Ministry finds this as an opportunity to formulate long-term plan to develop strong bilateral and global relations since India's vaccine diplomacy will not just save lives of millions, but it will also create a benchmark in global history books; and
(c) if so, the possible diplomatic outcomes thereof?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
[SHRI V. MURALEEDHARAN]
(a) to (c) Promoting COVID vaccination is a service to humanity and our common well being. It is not an issue of competition among countries. During the ongoing pandemic, countries have given as well as received medical supplies at different times. India has been an important part of this international cooperation, truly reflective of age old ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
