Foreign Office Consultations between India and Belarus

The sixth round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) between India and Belarus was held in New Delhi on 16 October 2018. The Indian side was led by Smt . Ruchi Ghanashyam, Secretary (West). The Belarus side was led by Mr. Andrei Dapkiunas, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During the consultations, the two sides reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral cooperation, including political and security, trade and investment, defence, establishment of cooperation between various regions of Belarus and states of India, science and technology, education, culture and tourism.

The sides also took note of the follow-up action on various issues identified during the meeting of the India-Belarus Inter-Governmental Commission held in Minsk on 24-25 September 2018.

The sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest including their cooperation in the United Nations, the SCO, the Non-Aligned Movement, and other international organisations.

The next round of FOC will be held in Minsk on mutually convenient dates.

Mr. Dapkiunas also called on the External Affairs Minister on 17 October, 2018.
