The Senior Officials Meeting with the representatives of leading labour sending States to ECR countries on Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) for migrant workers was held at Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra, Chankyapuri, New Delhi on 03.07.2018. Representatives from
Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Kerala, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal attended the meeting which was chaired by Sh. Dnyaneshwar M. Mulay, Secretary (CPV & OIA).
The meeting stressed on the importance of imparting PDO training to prospective migrants which would enable ensuring safe, orderly and regular migration in cooperation and collaboration among all the stake-holders. It was also emphasized that States shall take
exemplary action against illegal Recruitment Agencies (RAs).
The handbooks, training materials and other resource materials on PDO training was distributed to all the participants.
