CHINESE MILITARY BASE IN PAKISTAN
†598. SHRI LALLU SINGH:
Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether China has planned to set up a military base in Pakistan;
(b) if so, the view of the Government in this regard;
(c) whether the said activity of China and Pakistan could be harmful to India; and
(d) if so, the reaction of the Government in this regard?

(a) to (d) Government has seen reports in this regard. Government keeps a constant watch on all developments having a bearing on India’s security and takes all necessary measures to safeguard it.
