About:

The Republic of Korea (South Korea or ROK) is a highly developed, stable, democratic republic with powers shared between the president and the legislature. Korea is a modern economy where tourist facilities are widely available. English is rarely spoken outside the main tourist and business centers.

Geographically, South Korea is located on the southern part of the Korean Peninsula below the 38th parallel of latitude. It has coastlines along the Sea of Japan and the Yellow Sea. South Korea’s topography consists mainly of hills and mountains but there are large coastal plains in the western and southern parts of the country. The highest point in South Korea is Halla-san, an extinct volcano, which rises to 6,398 feet (1,950 m). It is located on South Korea’s Jeju Island, which is located south of the mainland.

Cultural tourism industry in Korea is advanced, generally, and in comparison with that in China, especially in terms of Korean higher service quality in tourism, which is based on convenient tourism infrastructure, and efficiently organized management for sightseeing districts.

Korea is a tourist friendly country, where both domestic and foreign tourists can get easy access to a tourism destination with help from information centers located at airports, hotels and entrance or hub places of sightseeing spots. Tourism information center provides independent travelers enough free brochures and maps necessary, most of which have foreign language edition in English, Chinese, and Japanese as well.
